Power system fault

Seal

Color

Urgency
Immediate

Most lamps light for a few seconds when you power the car on. That check is not a fault by itself. This page does not replace the owner’s manual for your model year and market. Icons are schematic illustrations used on this site. They are not offered as the vehicle maker’s artwork, and they have not been checked against it. They may not match the lamp on your cluster. Urgency levels are this site’s classification, not the maker’s. If they differ from the manual, follow the manual.

What it means

This lamp means the drive system has a fault. It also runs a self-check and should go out once the car is powered up. If it stays on, or it appears while driving, a monitored part of the drive is not healthy. The car may keep moving with less response, or it may ask you to stop. Rear-drive and dual-motor Seals share this one power-system lamp. A fault in the front motor, on a car that has one, does not get a separate icon.

What to do

Pull over when you can do so safely and have the drive system checked before a longer trip. If power drops at the same time, read the limited-power lamp as well and avoid hard acceleration.

Common questions

The car still moves. Can I ignore the lamp?
No. Have the fault checked before a longer trip. Continuing can leave you with less power, or with a shutdown, away from help.
It was on for a second at start-up and then went out.
A short self-check is normal. A fault is a lamp that stays on after that check or comes back on the road.
