Check soon

Most lamps light for a few seconds when you power the car on. That check is not a fault by itself. This page does not replace the owner’s manual for your model year and market. Icons are schematic illustrations used on this site. They are not offered as the vehicle maker’s artwork, and they have not been checked against it. They may not match the lamp on your cluster. Urgency levels are this site’s classification, not the maker’s. If they differ from the manual, follow the manual.

What it means

On the export Seal, cars with the front camera show a lane-support lamp. A flash means the system is warning you that the car is leaving its lane. A steady amber lamp means lane support is switched off, the camera cannot see the lines, or the system has a fault. Rain, low sun, missing markings, a dirty windscreen, and snow are usual reasons it cannot see. This page is on the Seal because export manuals for the sedan list the lamp with the cluster warnings. It uses its own symbol, separate from the stability-control car.

What to do

Keep your hands on the wheel and steer the car yourself while the lamp is steady. Switch lane support back on if you turned it off, once the camera can see clear lines. If it stays on in good weather with clear markings, have the camera system checked. The lamp does not steer or brake the car for you.

Common questions

It flashed once on a motorway and then went out. Is that a fault?
A flash is the warning that you are crossing a line. A fault, or a system that has given up, is the lamp that stays on.
Why does the Seal have this lamp when the shared safety set does not?
Export Seal manuals put lane support on the cluster for cars that have the camera. Treat a steady amber lamp as off, blind, or faulty, and steer the car yourself.
